Content & Copyright Policy

Tidecasters is built around a simple rule: upload only content you have rights to. This Content and Copyright Policy explains what that means for podcast episodes, music, artwork, advertising, and other material represented by the storefront. Creator ownership. You retain ownership of your original show and other material you own. Hosting does not transfer ownership to Tidecasters. The service receives only the limited permissions needed to store, reproduce, process, transmit, and display content as part of hosting, RSS delivery, analytics, backups, and related operations. Rights to upload. Before uploading an episode, confirm that you own the material or have the necessary permissions and licenses. This includes spoken recordings, music, sound effects, photographs, artwork, clips, trademarks, guest contributions, advertising material, and any other third-party content. If a license limits distribution, territory, duration, monetization, or platform use, you are responsible for complying with that limitation. Copyrighted music. Can you upload copyrighted music? Only if you have the rights or permissions required to upload and distribute it. Tidecasters does not provide music licenses. A podcast host cannot turn an unlicensed recording into licensed content simply by storing or distributing the file. RSS portability. The service is designed around creator-controlled RSS publishing. Subject to the technical requirements of the destination platform, creators should be able to migrate their feed and continue managing their show elsewhere. Migration does not erase obligations owed to licensors or rights holders. Reports and notices. If a rights holder believes material infringes their rights, a production service should provide a designated notice process and evaluate notices under applicable law. Notices should identify the protected work, the allegedly infringing material, the claimant's contact information, and the required statements for the relevant legal regime. Repeat infringement. A production service may restrict or terminate accounts that repeatedly infringe rights or knowingly abuse the notice process. Any enforcement should follow applicable law and the service's documented procedures. Advertising and sponsorship. Commercial plans may include sponsor markers, CPM tools, ad scheduling, or dynamic ad insertion. These tools do not grant permission to use an advertiser's trademarks, music, scripts, or creative assets. The customer remains responsible for the rights and claims associated with advertising material they supply. No audience promise. Tidecasters hosts your shows but never promises audience growth. Content performance, discovery, rankings, and sponsorship outcomes are not guaranteed. This policy is a static-site template and should be paired with a production notice-and-takedown process, jurisdiction-specific terms, and a verified legal contact before launch.
